WELCOME TO EWHURST PLAYERS

Based in Ewhurst at the foot of the beautiful Surrey Hills, we're celebrating our 50th birthday this year. With a sell-out run of Disney's Beauty and the Beast in February and a new adaptation of Dorothy Sayers' murder mystery The Nine Tailors to look forward to in the autumn, we're always looking for new actors, singers and techies. If you'd like to get involved, please email secretary@ewhurstplayers.com or visit our website.

A company that's part of the community

The Ewhurst Players first started life in 1937, were resurrected in 1962 and then reformed in 1973. The first performance from the latest incarnation was in Spring 1974, making us 50 years old this year.

Over the years, we’ve presented nearly 100 plays, 40 pantomimes, four musicals and fifteen revues and have won numerous awards from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association. In addition, we’ve staged many anthologies to mark national occasions such as the Queen’s Silver Jubilee (1066 and all that), the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War (Where Poppies Grow) and, most recently, Majesty, to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

Since 1974, tens of thousands of people from all around Surrey and beyond have beaten a path to Ewhurst Village Hall to be in the audience. Our shows often sell out fast and this has enabled us to donate considerable sums to charity, fund vital refurbishment of the village hall, and invest in new equipment.

We’re always keen to welcome new members, and although property development may divide opinion, it’s undeniable that new houses bring new residents and new blood. So, if you fancy treading the boards with us, helping out backstage or simply getting involved in one of Ewhurst’s finest assets, just email secretary@ewhurstplayers.com.

Ewhurst Players is an Equal Opportunities society.
